Executive Vice President and Head, Mechanical Engineering Department

As head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Fred B. Mass, PE, has over 28 years of experience associated with water management, water resource development, sewer systems, pumping applications, and power production.  His expertise includes conceptual planning, design development, preparation of contract documents, project permitting, cost estimating, bid analysis/negotiations/contract award, shop drawing review, construction observation, and equipment startup/testing.  Projects include the award winning Westwood Creek Dam and Pump Station and the Williams Street Five Million Gallon Reservoir and Pump Station.  Before joining Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. in 1987, Mr. Mass worked at Harza Engineering Company for 16 years.  At Harza, he spent over three years on an overseas field assignment with exposure to all related engineering disciplines.  Mr. Mass earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering form the University of Illinois.
