Head, Design/Build Department

Michael J. Stirk, EI, is the head of the Design/Build Department.  Mr. Stirk's responsibilities include project management and design activities for various clients and diverse projects.  Mr. Stirk's focus is on projects involving coordination with architecture and urban planning issues.  His experience includes the design and construction of planned public urban spaces, transportation, golf courses, site development projects, environmental restoration and permitting.  Mr. Stirk's accomplishments include being chosen as one of Crain's Chicago Business "40 under 40" and as a "Chicagoan of the Year" for Design and Architecture by the Chicago Tribune for his contributions to Chicago's Lake Shore Drive/Museum Campus Project, and earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts.  He is a Principal of Burke, LLC providing design/build services and construction management.
