Licensed engineers within the Civil Engineering, Civil Design, and Construction Engineering Departments have an average of over 25 years of experience and maintain an active role throughout projects for a wide variety of public sector traffic and transportation assignments.  We have specialized knowledge and experience with various funding programs available to our municipal clients from the grant writing stage to the design procedures required, as well as record keeping and funding reporting, giving our clients an added service not easily found in the engineering industry.  Team members are well versed with various funding types and the documentation required to close-out projects in a timely manner.  CBBEL staff routinely interacts with Village engineering, planning, legal, and public works staff, fire districts, sanitary districts, County agencies, and plan commissions and elected officials.  Our civil design experience includes:

CBBEL has provided annual street program services and Village wide pavement evaluations and pavement condition index (PCI) ratings for several municipalities throughout the 6-county region. Within the last five years, CBBEL has designed the reconstruction and resurfacing of over 150 miles of roadway for over 50 municipal clients.  Upon completion of the pavement ratings, CBBEL has developed a multi-year pavement management program to guide the municipality through their planning and annual budget process.

CBBEL has also completed several streetscape designs, bicycle paths, trail designs, and pedestrian facilities for nearby communities.  We work with representatives of the community to achieve a distinct character for their corridor.
