CBBEL’s Structural Engineering Department specializes in engineering services as it relates to civil and transportation engineering projects as well as environmental structures. In the area of civil engineering and transportation engineering, CBBEL projects have included bridge design, culvert design and grade separation design for highway interchanges. Recent bridge projects have included work for IDOT, the City of Chicago as well as bridges of varying types, sizes and lengths in the greater Chicagoland area.

Bridges have been designed in steel, cast-in-place concrete and precast concrete. Grade separation projects have included work performed on the I-74 interchange in Peoria, Illinois utilizing MSE walls, soldier pile wall systems and conventional retaining walls. In the area of environmental engineering, we have successfully completed the design or restoration of concrete spillways of varying capacity, weir design, above and below grade water reservoirs for stormwater detention and potable drinking water and engineering design for channelized flows.

CBBEL has also designed several buildings including the Metra Rosemont Station, Scott County Town Jail addition and several church additions.
