After experiencing nine inches of rain over a three-day period, Bartlett embarked on a flood study where more than 500 residents were surveyed. The results of the survey were input into a GIS database to develop a flood study area for the Village. As a result of the study, short term improvements including improvements to the drainage systems such as wildlife management, brush clearing, and field tile repairs were identified to bring immediate relief. The study also noted several long-term drainage improvements consisting of new relief sewers and flood storage areas.
