The project included reconstruction of the 80 year-old Fullersburg Woods Flat Bridge that crosses Salt Creek. The new bridge was designed to span over the entire creek, eliminating any issues with debris build up on piers in the creek. The aesthetics of the bridge were important so that it fit the look of the historic area by constructing a steel beam bridge with a timber facade, decking, and railing to replicate the look of the original bridge. The bridge abutments incorporated a limestone facade and ledge rock to provide a more natural look.
