Approximately 70,000 vehicles per day travel through this heavily congested intersection with lengthy delays during the morning and afternoon peak hours. CBBEL designed and managed construction for the reconstruction of this heavily congested intersection, totaling over 4.3 lane miles of new concrete pavement. This project was closely coordinated with IDOT, the FHWA, and the public. Other improvements included a new storm sewer system, a sidewalk, a bike path, entrances, medians, short retaining walls, and landscaping.
