CBBEL is part of the Parsons Brinckerhoff consultant engineering team selected by IDOT and INDOT to prepare a Tier One and Tier Two Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Illiana Corridor project. The Illiana Corridor is a proposed new transportation facility south of I-80 that will connect I-55 in Illinois and I-65 in Indiana, a distance of approximately 50 miles. The Tier One studies were initiated in 2011 within a 950 square mile project study area within Will and Kankakee Counties and Lake County, Indiana. The Tier One Draft EIS was completed in July 2012. The Tier One Final EIS and Record of Division (ROD) was completed in early 2013 with Tier Two EIS studies continuing through 2013.

CBBEL’s work on the Illiana Corridor project is focused on providing supporting engineering and environmental study services, public involvement, agency coordination, and technical writing associated with preparation of the EIS and development of the alternatives evaluation reports. CBBEL’s environmental work is primarily focused on water resources impact assessment and environmental field studies in Indiana.
