APWA 2014 Project of the Year. The centerpiece of the Music Garden is the outdoor Music/Performance Venue coupled with a Visitor Service Center building. The City implemented the RiverEdge Park Music Garden project through a phased approach over a number of years, starting with site preparation, utility work and shoreline restoration, followed later by the construction of the aforementioned Music/Performance Venue building, Visitor Service Center and other site architectural elements. The Fox River shoreline and “Blues Island” in the Fox River was enhanced with native plant species. The next phase of the project includes the design and construction of an architectural pedestrian connection over the Fox River.

Services included:

• CBBEL led a group of architects, planners, engineers, landscape architects, finance specialists, festival managers and the Executive Director of Chicago’s Millennium Park (The Park Collaborative) that worked closely with City offi cials, staff and volunteer interest groups to facilitate a consensus master plan and final design

• In addition to overseeing the entire design development, public involvement and permitting process, CBBEL was responsible for topographic survey, coordination of utility relocations, obtaining permits from IDOT and IEPA, preparing civil and electrical concept plans, schematics and design exhibits, and developing construction plans, specifi cations, estimates of cost and estimates of construction duration
